Boob tape can give you lift and shape under outfits where a bra just won't work. But if you've ever tried traditional tape, you might remember the pulling, the sting and the red marks when it came off. It doesn't have to be that way. Here's how to apply silicone boob tape properly, take it off without pain, and keep it ready for next time.

Why traditional boob tape hurts and why Talaa Tape doesn't

Most discomfort comes from three things: tape applied over oils or lotion (so you press harder and it still slips), tape pulled off too fast, and adhesives that grip your skin more than they need to.

Talaa Tape is made from ultra-thin, skin-safe medical-grade silicone with no latex. It lifts and holds with a gentle, second-skin feel and is designed to peel off smoothly, without pain or discomfort. Applying it the right way makes all the difference.

What you need

  • Talaa Tape (each pack has 4 strips of 40 x 10 cm)
  • Clean scissors
  • Clean, dry skin
  • Talaa Smooth Originals nipple covers, if you don't wish to apply the tape directly on your sensitive area

How to apply boob tape, step by step

  1. Cleanse. Start with clean, dry skin. No creams, no oils, no body lotion where the tape will go.
  2. Define. Put your outfit on or hold it up, and decide the look you want: a little lift, a deep plunge or a backless style.
  3. Customise. Cut the tape to the length or shape you need. Trim it with clean scissors before you peel it off the protective film.
  4. Peel. Remove the tape from the protective film. Keep the film, you'll need it to store your tape.
  5. Apply. Lift your breast into position with one hand and apply the tape upward, or in the direction your look needs. Hold and press for 5 seconds.
  6. Adjust. Not quite right? Peel the tape off gently, reapply, and press again for 5 seconds.

Want coverage too? Add nipple covers first

Tape gives you lift, with minimal coverage. For a completely smooth look, put your nipple covers on before the tape:

How to take boob tape off without it hurting

  1. Go slowly. Lift one corner and peel the tape gently from the edge. Never rip it off in one go.
  2. Keep it low and close to your skin. Peeling back along your skin, rather than pulling straight out, is gentler.
  3. No oils needed. Talaa Tape is designed to peel off smoothly on its own.
  4. Save it. Place the tape straight back on its protective film.

How to clean and store your tape so it lasts

  • Wash it gently with water and hand soap.
  • Air dry it adhesive side up.
  • Once it's fully dry, put it back on the protective film and into its original packaging.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-based cleaners and washing machines.

With proper care, Talaa Tape is reusable up to 5 times. The protective film is what keeps it sticky between wears, so don't throw it away.

Tips for wearing boob tape comfortably

  • Do a patch test before wearing it for longer periods.
  • Skip irritated or sunburned skin, and take the tape off if you feel any discomfort.
  • Avoid it if you may be allergic to silicone or adhesive.
  • Keep it for lower-sweat moments. Heavy sweat and water affect the adhesive, so tape isn't recommended for swimming or intense workouts. For the gym or the pool, choose Smooth covers, which are waterproof and sweat-proof.
  • Try it at home first, so you know exactly how you like it before a big night.
